LEGOが「マインドストーム」の弟分、「BOOST」を販売すると – $160 の子供も楽しめるプログラミング学習セット

マインドストームって知ってます？

って昔の事なのだけど、初期のバージョンンを知人に教えてもらって購入した。

そのころは、まだまだで、部品としては今と大して変わらないのだけれど、センサー類はなかったですよ。

シリアルポートに専用ツールで作成したプログラムを転送する。

そして、レゴでくみ上げたロボット（のようなもの）を動かして遊ぶという。

ただ、やっぱりある程度の知識が必要で、子供が遊びながら学習するというレベルのものではなかったように思うけれど、当然どんどん進化して、今の製品は優しく簡単に楽しめるようになっています。

出来れば Arduino でやってくれるとよいのでは？

と思ったりもするけれど、そこやっぱり無理なのでしょうねぇ。

マインドストーム自体のお値段も、かなり高くて、子供がおこずかいでってのは無理だと思うし、まぁ今回販売されるという「BOOST」という製品も $160 だから、お年玉全部つぎ込んでって感じかもしれないけれど、電子的な組み立てなどがない分、簡単だし、楽しめるとは思います。

やっぱり今でも結構なお値段・・だけれども、今度販売が行われる「BOOST」は $160。

さぁどうなんでしょうしょうねぇ。

現時点では、「BOOST」は CES で発表がされた段階で、2017年の下半期に販売が開始されるそうですよ。

レゴのサイトを徘徊すると、「BOOST」のメディアキット（英語）を見ることができるので、興味のある方は、こちらをお勧めしますが、早いのは動画を見る事かな？

となっている模様。

それぞれには、傾斜センサーやモーターなどが含まれ、ミサイルも発射できる。

お話しすることもできちゃいます。

アプリケーションは、iOS / Android で動作するものが用意され、全てがドラッグ&ドロップで作成することができるので、直感的にプログラミング学習を体験することができる。

• Includes over 840 LEGO® pieces, plus a LEGO Move Hub, Interactive Motor and a Color & Distance Sensor.

電子機器が大好きです。
プログラムを書くのをお仕事としていたこともあるので、両方できる PIC や Arduino を使って、いろいろな（役にあんまり立たない）ものを作っています。
実は UNIX 関連のお仕事も長かったので、Raspberry Pi もお手の物なのですけれど、これから触る機会が多くなるのかなぁ。
